Hello family! My name is Jennifer and I am currently an Elementary Education Graduate student in the Salisbury, MD area. I am from Salisbury, MD, but recently lived in Madrid, Spain, where I was teaching English at a local elementary school for the year. I graduated from College of Charleston in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Arts Management and Spanish. My professional experience is pretty unique. Before moving to Spain, I worked as a Social Worker with at-risk OB/GYN patients and also worked at the same organization in their Mental Health Department with at-risk youth before that. I have experience working as a Substitute Teacher and I also nannied for one year right after college for a sweet baby girl (6 months old at the time I started) in South Carolina. I am somewhat "old fashioned" when it comes to child care, in that I believe that Read more childhood should be spent getting dirty, playing outside and being wildly creative - not spending all of your time in front of a television or an iPad screen. Children have the capacity of being unbelievably creative and I enjoy exploring that. Some activities that I enjoy utilizing while spending time with children is painting, dancing, singing, reading and telling stories, speaking/learning Spanish, playing "pretend" and anything else that we can create while using our imaginations. I am CPR certified and have my own transportation. I enjoy pets of all kinds and always remember to tidy up whatever we create at the end of the day.
