I was exposed to childcare at an early age as my mom was an in-home daycare provider. Starting in high school, I spent a total of 9 summers working with summer camps, with 8 summers as a camp counselor and 1 summer as a camp manager. I do not have any official experience as a nanny, but I feel my time as an overnight summer camp counselor has more than prepared me for such a position. Each of my camp counselor positions came with intense training and invaluable learning experiences. As a counselor, I realized the weight of the responsibility I was undertaking. These parents were entrusting their most prized possessions with a complete stranger for an entire week. It was my responsibility to care not only care for these children, but help give them the best summer camp experience possible. I chose to spend summer after summer working with Read more kids because I find it very enjoyable and rewarding. My favorite part of working with kids is investing in them and really getting to know them as individuals. I also grew up with a younger sibling and had occasional babysitting experiences all throughout my teen years. I am currently a personal trainer and hold a valid CPR/AED and First Aid certification.
