This nanny is not trustworthy. Dawn worked for us as a full-time nanny from September, 2014-October 2015. A few weeks ago we discovered that she was lying to us about where she was taking our 17 month old son. My husband happened to see her driving on the interstate about 20 minutes away with our son in the car when she had told us that she was at the children's museum. When we called the museum, they said she hadn’t been there in over a month. We confronted Dawn about this discrepancy, asking for the truth about where she had been. She swore that she was at the museum and I really wanted to believe her. I told her I would check in with the museum the next day and call her. The museum actually allowed me to review security video footage from the previous day, proving that Dawn and my son were never there. We subsequently realized there were several other times when she told me they were going to the museum when they were never there. We called and texted Dawn multiple times over the weekend to let her know we needed to terminate the contract and to try to find out where she was taking our son. She never returned any of our calls. We got a call a few days later from a “friend” of Dawn’s saying that she had been admitted to a hospital with a “nervous breakdown.” The “friend” gave us periodic updates about her treatment for over a week. Multiple times, we asked the “friend” to have Dawn call us when she could. We have subsequently found out that she was discharged. We tried calling and sending messages without any response. We still do not know where she was taking our son. In our heart of hearts, we don’t believe that Dawn would have intentionally done anything to put him in harms way, but we don’t know that for sure, since she has proven that she has no problem looking us in the eye and telling us lies.
