Hello my name is Addy Simons-Wilson. I grew up in the majestic and rainy Seattle, Washington. I have been working with children since 2010. I have tried multiple career paths and keep coming back to my love for children. Nothing has been more rewarding for me then seeing a child struggle with an idea or concept then have it click for them and not only understand what they have been attempting but also being able to do it well. I have now been a swim coach for five years. I have also worked as a preschool teacher, instructor, nanny, camp counselor, and children’s fitness instructor. I took 13 Early Childhood Education credits at Clatsop Community College in Astoria, OR. I went to University of Hawai’i for a year focusing on elementary and early childhood education. I am currently planning on finishing up my degree in elementary education online. In order to do this we must be knowledgeable in our field to properly help lead and teach these children socially, emotionally, physically, and intellectually by developing healthy interpersonal relationships. My favorite book is anything written by Zora Neal Hurston or Jack Kerouac. In my free time I enjoy getting my face painted and training for triathlons.
