I am currently a student at Washington Adventist University pursuing a major in Early Childhood /Special Education and I work at a private school in DC as an assistant in the aftercare program catering to children ages 6-12. I have been a counselor and class instructor in the Linden Light bearers Pathfinder Club for 5 years, looking after children ages ranging from 10-15. I also volunteer at a church camp every summer looking after children ages ranging from 2-12. I love to keep children, especially younger ones, interested and active. Fun is important, but learning comes first. If there are any assignments that the children need to be completed, I will ensure that everything be done in a timely matter.

From leaving the front door unlocked, to poor time management, I found this to be a poor fit. I ended up having to feed and bathe the children myself, and follow up on their homework----despite having paid for evening. She's a sweet girl, but needs a lot of very specific direction. Sometimes, I just need an extra pair of hands. I would hire her again for a situation like this. Sometimes, I need someone to take over for the evening so that I can get some work done. Instead, I ended up paying someone else, while caring for the children myself.
