I'm born and raised Washingtonian, born and raised but currently, but currently live in Waldorf, MD. My name is Marilyn Corbin-Johnson, I'm 59 (as of Oct. 31) a divorced mother of one adult son, (Lamont); a non-smoking christian with a heart for service. My great-grandmother, Mattie was instrumental in inspiring my love for caregiving. I was frot with colic as a toddler and great-grandmother used her love and knowledge of children to cure my bellyache. As a teenager, I often observed her gentle for babies, toddlers aged elders and disabled in her home. My first experience as caregiver began at nineteen to my beloved great-grandmother in 1975 when she fell ill I eagerly offered my services to care for her until she was placed in a nursing home. In 1982 I worked as a caregiver in Alexandria, VA for Mrs.Margret Lopatin providing care for her elderly, wheelchair bound sister, Martha Read more unti!l her death in 1984. My duties including; light housekeeping, bathing, assisting with dressing, companionship, medicine remained, errands, laundry, making up bed and meal preparation. Twenty years later in 1996, I join District of Colunbia Child And Family Services Agency Foster Carester parent along with my husband, Robert to a total of 12 at risk foster boys with ADHD in our Upper Marbloro, MD home.
