My name is Serena Newcomer. I love being with children and helping them grow and learn. In fact, I've been surrounded by children for much of my life! My two youngest sisters were born after I was a teenager, providing me with hands on experience with newborn infants. As the oldest of 7 children, I learned how to diaper, feed, and entertain young children. I was invaluable to my Mother during those 7 years. I even home-schooled my youngest sister through first grade with a learning to read program. Later, I volunteered full-time for 15 months at a facility, caring for children and toddlers of women in prison. While there, I also served by working with handicapped children and adults. For more than 5 years, I have been employed as a Personal Support Specialist at an assisted living facility in Freeport, Maine where I am still currently working. I have Read more high moral standards and endeavor to be a dependable, honest, and compassionate caregiver. I enjoy meeting the needs of others and making their lives more cheerful. I am excitedly anticipating the transition from caring for elderly persons, back to caring for young children again.
