My name is Kelsey and I am a 29 year old, energetic elementary school teacher with six years of teaching experience. After teaching kindergarten for four consecutive years, I completed my Masters in Special Education and have been teaching early childhood special education for two years. I currently teach in a UPK inclusion classroom in Harlem. In the summertime, I work as a nanny and tutor for kids in my neighborhood. I would usually plan out our week every Sunday with their moms and dads. We took trips to parks, playgrounds, museums, swimming pools, theaters, and other locations in and around the city. Some days, we would take excursions out of the city to hiking trails or amusement parks. Other days, we would stay close to home and bake cookies or complete an art project or jigsaw puzzle. I would also allot some time each day for reading and quiet Read more study time with the kids. I'd feed the kids lunch and dinner each day and also help with housekeeping and laundry. I'd also run errands for the parents when necessary (dry cleaning, food shopping). I am also available for tutoring jobs, specifically for families with young children who may need reading or math support . I specialize alphabetic principle, letter names/sounds, phonological awareness, reading/listening comprehension and writing. I have experience working with students with various exceptionalities, including ADHD, Autism, Emotional Disturbance, English Language Learners, Developmental Delay,Speech/Language Disorders, and Specific Learning Disabilities. I am certified in CPR and First Aid. I have been background checked the New York Department of Education. I am located in the West Village. I do not have a car but can travel to you! Thank you!
