Hi! My name is Abbie Hudson. I’m a graduate of Oberlin College, and have just moved to Cleveland. I’d love to help take care of your kids and household! I enjoy interacting with young kids lot, and believe I have the responsibility and compassion required to be a good caretaker. During my time in college, I worked as a counselor at Camp High Rocks in West Virginia. At this job, I was responsible for designing and teaching writing courses for adolescents, and acting as a mentor. The girls I worked with there were older, but I also have experience caring for four toddlers and a dog in the home of an Oberlin family (who would gladly act as a reference if you’d like), as well as helping to care for my two much younger sisters. At Oberlin, I studied world religion and minored in creative writing. I also worked on Read more a thesis discussing the role of religion in child psychology and development. I have worked as a waitress at Aladdin’s Eatery in Oberlin, and as a barista at Schuler Books in my Michigan hometown. At these jobs, I gained a lot of skill in multitasking, quick thinking, and responsibility. I have a driver’s license and car, am able to help with housework and meal prep, and would be happy to pick up extra hours if needed. I love hiking and being outdoors, animals, reading, writing, and music. I can play simple songs on the guitar and enjoy singing.
