I am currently an assistant teacher in a primary classroom (ages 3-6) at a Montessori School in Canton. I have over 6 years experience working as an assistant at various Montessori schools. I think it's important to allow children to grow and learn while exploring their environment. I also work really hard on allowing children to become independent. I have worked in before and after school care for elementary and middle school children. I am also a support group facilitator for Upper Elementary children experiencing bereavement. Teaching dance is another passion of mine and I have taught children ages 3-12 for over 5 years at a local dance studio. My undergraduate degree is in Interpersonal Communication with a minor in Family Studies. My Family studies degree required me to take a number of courses in various child development areas. I am currently a Masters student at Wayne State University in Read more the dual Clinical Mental Health and School Counseling program. Upon graduation, I wish to work with children and families professionally. I think it's important for children to spend as much time outdoors as possible and tend to limit television watching to little or none. I am comfortable doing meal preparations and light housekeeping. I have also babysat for a number of families. I tend to think of myself as a child at heart and love to have fun with the children!
