I have babysat for a family who has a 7-year-old boy and a 5-year-old girl with down syndrome. I've also babysat for two families who have had children between three and seven. However, the most experience I have had with kids is being a camp counselor. As a counselor, I was entrusted with a cabin of 15 7th graders. I was involved in leading activities, teaching my kids new skills, and making sure they all knew where to go throughout the day. Additionally, each summer, I volunteer as a camp counselor at Camp Sunshine. This is a camp for kids with special needs. Each counselor gets paired with a camper and cares for them throughout their time at camp as they help them with daily tasks. I love kids and planning activities, so nanny is a perfect fit for me!
