Hi, My name is Kim Laviolette. I am an elementary school teacher in Howell, Mi. I have a master's degree in education. I also have a bachelor's degree in special education/ psychology (k-8); a minor in general education (k-6) and ZA endorsement (early childhood education). I have been certified in CPR and fist aid but it is currently expired. (I am looking for a class to renew these.) I have been teaching for 26 years. I love children of all ages. I enjoy: reading, being outdoors, arts and crafts, music, playing games, exploring local areas and volunteering. You may be wondering why a teacher is looking for a sitter/ nanny job. The answer is two-fold. One, my youngest son is finishing his first year in college and I'm trying to make extra money to help him. Currently: I teach elementary, volunteer in the nursery at church a couple times a month and get a 10 month old/ 3 year old ready in the mornings and take them to daycare. I am looking for summer positions, part-time jobs and date night care giving positions. I have taught special education. (self- contained Learning Disabled classrooms, Resource room classrooms and Physically or Otherwise Health Impaired Classrooms.) I have taught First, second and third grade general education classrooms. I've worked: in a group home; helped run an in-home day care; volunteered in church from infants through elementary aged children; volunteer with Summer Lunch Bunch through Salvation Army and baby sat. I helped raise my step-son who has autism, cerebral palsy, has a hearing impairment and visual impairment. I also raise two other boys. I am patient, honest, reliable, punctual and a hard worker.
