Hello, My name is DeAnn and I am currently an undergraduate student at Central Michigan University. This is my third year and I am majoring in Early Childhood Development and minoring in Psychology. I aspire to open my own daycare center one day. I am originally from Louisiana, but resided in Grand Rapids for about six years before moving to Mt.Pleasant for school. I worked as a certified nurse assistant for two years and then worked at a daycare for seven months. I changed my field of work because I realized I enjoyed being around children more. Unfortunately, my class schedule didn't line up well with the hours I worked at the daycare so I had to resign. When I worked at the daycare I worked in every room from infant to preschool, which was four years of age. However, I have been babysitting for my family since I was Read more twelve and work well with all ages of children. I have always had a passion for children and it’s just something about being around them that makes my soul happy. I am also equipped with the patience and understanding to work well with them. Being able to remain calm in extreme situations has proved to be a great asset, as well as adjusting well and grasping new concepts easily. I was certified in CPR and first aid, but my certificate recently expired and I will be renewing my skills soon. I enjoy being active, making crafts, reading and cooking.
