I am 22 years old and have received my Associates degree in Arts at Southwestern Michigan College. I was raised in a Christian home with two loving parents and one older brother. I not only am a great child caretaker, but I also am a huge animal lover. I have been taking care of children since I was young myself, and I first began babysitting when I was 14 years old, taking care of a family friends' daughter who was 3 at the time, and I would also take care of my 4-year-old cousin as well. When I was around 17 years old I had the opportunity to care for 3 young children for the summer. I would watch them from 8 am to 5 pm, and during that time we would spend most of our time outside, going on walks, and playing games. There I worked mainly with the infants and toddlers, and on occasion I worked with the preschoolers and elementary students. Taking care of children has always made me happy. I love being able to teach kindness and compassion to young children because they are our future. Children need to be taught how to play and get along with others, and they need to know love and support in order for them to grow. When you teach a child that they are important, and let them know that they are loved, they will in turn show that kindness to other children, and this will hopefully help encourage children to get along, rather than bullying. My nanny skills include teaching the child(ren), singing and playing games. I believe that reading to the child is a great way of educating them and preparing them for their school. I also like to make sure that there is plenty of time outside because it has many benefits! I am also a good cook, so I am able to make proper meals for whatever the child needs, as long as I have a recipe.
