Over the past four years, I have been a caregiver/nanny for several families with children ranging from ages 18 months to 13-years-old. Some of my past responsibilities included: - Assumed household responsibilities - Maintained a safe and secure environment conducive to childhood development - Followed strict guidelines and schedules - Assisted with educational and creative activities I also have cared for pets and done housekeeping and errands. Previously, I was studying at Kutztown University in Pennsylvania while nannying full-time for one family and part-time for others. I have relocated to Saline due to my fiancé's work. I am roughly three semesters away from a bachelor's in English, and from there I plan to become certified in early childhood education. I have major-hopped at school, and held various job titles, but have come to find that working with children is the most rewarding and fulfilling work for me. My interests include: Read more Arts and crafts - I love drawing, painting, photography, sewing, collaging, quilting, and attempting to learn knitting at least once a year. Literature - Hooray for books! I am currently reading the Brothers Karamazov. My favorite children's books are: Peter Rabbit, The Velveteen Rabbit, anything Roald Dahl, the Ramona Quimby series, and a lot more. Music - I went to a performing arts high school where I studied music theory and vocal performance. Music is something I haven't kept up with as much as I would like to claim, but am still passionate about & am hoping to get back into (looks like there's a lot of great classes in the area). Technology - I am slightly skilled with technology and know some coding. I do not have a smartphone because they are an unnecessary expense, but do enjoy the computer. A few of the children I nannied for really loved technology - but were under strict guidelines (understandably) for screen time. I supervised them on the computer, selecting age appropriate and mentally stimulating games for them to play and explore. Fitness - As far as physical activities, these are my go-to. I belong to the rec center and do yoga and swim 3-5 times per week. I also love running around and playing! I love cultivating creative environments where we learn through play. Addendum: I am in the process of becoming First Aid and CPR certified front infants, children, and adults. The certification class will be in early October.
