My name is Kimmie Moon and I am recently married and brand new to the Swartz Creek and Flint area! My husband is a resident at Genesys, so I moved from Ithaca to be with him. In Ithaca, I was a Teacher in an Alternative Education setting, which requires an immense amount of patience and understanding. I truly enjoyed working with these young adults! Also, in Ithaca I was a Calf Manager at my parents Dairy Farm. I grew up learning hard work and dedication while also developing my appreciation for family values and the worth relationships hold. On the farm, I helped the mama cows deliver their calves, then cared for all the new born babies: feeding, bedding, pitch pens, as well as treating all the sick ones with various medications (as needed). I also milked cows, farmed the land and many other things that might bore a person Read more to death that is looking for a Nanny:) Basically, I cared for the babies and their Mommas:) Before farming I was a teacher (2006-2012), I had a the experience being a Nanny in California for a couple that had a newborn and a 4 year old girl with Rett's Syndrome. I think I was the 13th nanny that couple had gone through in that year, but I was able to work for them for the whole summer before landing my first teaching job. It was very trying and one of the most difficult positions I have had to do to this day. Not because of the kids, but because the mother was so unhappy and cruel. I was a Physical Education teacher for 3 years in Northern California and lived with my sister, Terri, who was a live-in Nanny for a wonderful family. The single father was away all the time, so Terri and I cared for the two kids (ages 7 and 10) for 2 of the 3 years we lived there. The father re-married and no longer needed our services. So, in short, I have had little "Nanny" experience, but A TON of experience working with kids and caring for animals. I am responsible, know how to make and execute a schedule, always have a plan B (teachers need like 6 plans when the first 5 fail), and above all, I love children. Some personal info: I love to be outdoors and take walks with my 2 doggies and cook meals for my new husband. I have 4 nieces/nephews and love to spend as much time with them as I possibly can before I have kids of my own! I am not interested in going back to teaching in a classroom per se, but would love to find a part-time position where I can use some of my talents and be part of a community.
