I have always been around kids ( I have a big family) and I have always been the go to for babysitting in my family. I had a friend growing up who was diagnosed with Down Syndrome and I was the one she clung to in class and ever since then I loved everything about helping and supporting her and other kids with those same traits. My sister gave birth to my sweet niece 5 years ago and I was taking care of her since she was born, I was able to take away a lot skills from having that experience. Knowing how to care for an infant. I was with a family for almost a year until they no longer needed my help. I cared for 3 children, ages 3,11,12 and it was the best job I ever had. I did everything from transporting them from practices, doctor appointments, Read more running errands, laundry, meal prep for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I then received an offer from Waterford School District for a special education teacher assistant and did that for about a year. I had a class of 8 students with all very different special needs. Teaching courses to them in an easier way for them to understand, helping with basic hygiene, being a role model for the other students in the school.
