I believe I am greatly qualified for this job because, i have a lot of experience with care giving and children. At 16 years old I became a certified nurses assistant, and began my journey in the caregiving/ health field. I started my position as a CNA in the Alzheimer’s unit and quickly became adjusted to the many behaviors that come along with such a terrible disease, and after I conquered that after many years of working in a nursing home setting, i branched out and decided to peruse a job opening at the local daycare center as a teaching assistant in the infant room. There I worked with many different kids.. ranging from, ethnicity, age, race, and some with educational and mental disabilities. As the years have gone by I have worked at 2 nursing homes as a CNA, and 2 daycare centers in my area, and I have Read more loved working at each place, and created memorable bonds and relationships with both staff members and my clients/ kiddos. I am now currently working as a PCA ( personal care assistant) with a 16 year old female with autism, fetal alcoholism, low cognitive functioning, Schizophrenia, & OCD. Days can get tough, but they can also be awesome! We have an amazing bond and great understanding with each other. I work with my client Monday- Friday 11:00am- 7pm. My days with her insist of, making sure she gets her meals (assisting/ teaching her basic cooking skills) reminding her to use the bathroom so we don’t have any accidents, helping her bathe (night care rutine) Sometimes picking her up from school, and making sure she gets to her appointments.. ( doctor, dental, social outtings) being a care giver has taught me a lot about my myself as a person. I now know that I have a lot of patience, I am kind hearted, time efficient, great under pressure, and extremely organized. Right now I am currently living in the Alexandria area, but plan on moving to the shakopee area at the end of March, and am able to start work April 1st. Thank you for considering me!
