My name is Paige and I am a full-time college student seeking a part-time summer care position. My love of children dates back to the time that I was a little girl, and is evident in my multiple babysitting, nannying, and volunteer childcare positions through my church over the years. I love to use my sense of adventure and passion for trying new things to connect with children through creative crafts, outdoor activities such as biking and rollerblading, and fun games. I was asked to be a Personal Care Assistant (PCA) for a teenage girl with Autism at the age of 15, which turned out to be the best decision of my high school career. As a PCA, I was responsible for assisting with basic hygienic care, while also helping to improve her physical and cognitive health through reading, crafts, and music. In the summer of 2013, I worked as Read more an overnight camp counselor for the Autism Society of Minnesota. This experience further confirmed my desire to one day have a career that will improve the lives of children with special needs. In addition to these home-care positions, I have worked with children in a Language Development Laboratory, which required extensive background checking and training. I am graduating in May 2016 from Vanderbilt University, but will be returning home to the Minneapolis area before moving to New York City for graduate school in Speech-Language Pathology this fall.
