Meet Sierra

Ever since I was a little girl I knew I was supposed to take care of children. I always treated my stuffed animals and dolls like children and was very gentle and caring. When I turned 10 I went to a Red Cross babysitting class and got certified as a babysitter. I have been caring for children ever since. In high school I took a child development and care class and passed it with flying colors. In that class I learned all sorts of things about children and caring for them that I actively use. I have babysat for many different families. Every family I have babysat for made me their primary babysitter. I have never found a child that I didn't like or didn't like me. I will sometimes spend a few hours on the internet beforehand to find out of the box activities for youngsters. A little about me personally is... I am 18 years old, looking for full time work, and love children and animals of all ages. I have a kind and patient personality and do well with any child or pet. I would never dream of yelling at a child. I believe in positive reinforcement, redirection, and gentle discipline. I am the type of person who will do extensive research on anything I don't know. Say I would be caring for a child with autism. I would do hours of research into autism, ways to help them cope, how to make them feel safe and loved, etc. I learn most things quickly including routines, rules, and what works and what doesn't with a child. My dream would be to work with children on a daily basis. I believe children are precious and that their childhood is something to be cherished. There are too many people in this world who just want children to grow up. They don't realize that the childhood years are the most important and precious years any human being has. They are developing who they are, their likes and dislikes, their hopes and dreams, and so much more. In conclusion, no matter what situation I am put in with a child, I adapt and do what I can to be what that child needs. I love all living beings, but especially children. If you choose me to take care of your child, I understand how massive the responsibility is and will do everything I can to do right by you and your child.
