For the past three summers I was full-time and then part-time for a family of three very energetic boys who are now 17, 10 and 8. For the oldest boy I provided transportation to all of his summer classes and camps. The other two boys required more attention so most days I would bring them to an activity if necessary and then I would teach and help them with a various amount of sports and we would do small arts a crafts. A few years ago I also babysat semi-frequently for a family of two girls (now 10 and 8). We would often go swimming and they loved when I would teach them how to play volleyball. I have also coached various amounts of volleyball teams so I am aware of how to have fun and be stern with kids at the same time. At college I am also a Read more part of a program called "Ace's Girls" which is made up of 60 1st-6th grade girls. For an hour on Sundays we (my collegiate volleyball team) teach them the mechanics of the game, and then for another hour we teach them about how to be a good citizen such as what it means to be a bystander, or self confidence. I love kids, and find that I can learn so much from them while also offering a vast amount of knowledge.
