Hi my name is Amber Smith and I am currently graduating this spring of 2019 from the The College of St. Scholastica. I will be graduating with a Bachelor in Arts of educational studies degree. I also will be a coach at Itasca Community College this coming fall. I love being outdoors and being active. I have also fulfilled my dream for playing basketball at a college level. I have a passion of watching children grow and become successful. This field has brought me many opportunities including working with students in the school districts. I have had many experiences in babysitting from ages six months to seven years old. I have managed to keep children engaged with indoor and outdoor activities. I have prepared meals and assisted them with their bedtime routine. I have had the opportunity to work at a camp called Youth in Motion down in WI. I Read more have learned how to efficiently manage children at variety of ages. I learned how to handle conflict within a group while keeping all the children engaged. This position has developed my confidence and passion for teaching children. Another quality that I have improved on with this job is my time management skills. Some of my duties as a camp counselor were to create daily lesson plans, make phone calls and run activities such as sports, camping and crafts. I love that this position provides the challenge of being a leader and boosts my passion for helping children.
