I've worked with children for the past 18 years, mostly with preschoolers and toddlers, and some with infants and school-aged children. I've had experience working in centers for 14 years, and have spent 12 years working as a preschool teacher, as well as a babysitter/nanny for children of various ages. I have a Minnesota Early Childhood teaching license and degree (birth-3rd grade) and a degree in child development, as well. I enjoy music and dance and reading and writing, both with children and as a hobby. I also enjoy art, science, sensory and cooking activities with children because everything becomes an adventure. Speaking of adventures, I love exploring the city and going on "field trips" with children in my charge, seeing things through their "child's lens". I also love learning with children, even while I am teaching, and understand the importance of play in that process. It is important to Read more me that children I am caring for have some outside time when possible (i.e. not too cold!) and ample chances for using their natural energy and curiosity. (And I DO enjoy playing in the rain and splashing in puddles!)
