I have worked at Appletime Child Care for 6 years. I have worked with children ranging from 6 weeks to 11 years old. I am a teacher and I assist in teaching toddlers and preschoolers the alphabet, numbers, colors, shapes, and body movements/parts. I also help children learn good manners and how to behave/play nicely with other children. In the toddler rooms I assit with potty training. As a teacher I am able to be the only teacher in the classroom; in either of the two toddler rooms I can have up to seven toddlers with me alone, the preschool rooms I can have up to 10 children with me alone, and in the school-age room (elementary school aged children) I can have up to 15 children with me. I love playing with children in all the activities we have. I play kitchen, make believe, cars, dolls, and color with Read more them. I especially enjoy doing art projects and playing outside with any of the children. I also enjoy reading books to all the children, but especially the toddlers because they seem to be the most interested and entertained by stories. Because I work with children I am CPR and first aid certified. Outside of working with children I enjoy reading, being outside, and making crafts such as jewelry. I enjoy spending time with my friends and family. I like to stay organized, have a schedule, and know what's going on. I currently attend the University of Minnesota and I am studying elementary and early childhood education. I love being part of the process that helps shape children into the wonderful people they will be.
