I love working with children! I got my passion from my mother who is the Children's Minister of our church. I got my start filling in for Sunday School teachers and acting as a counselor at pre-teen and youth sleep away camps. As a camp counselor I assured the safety of every child in my care, kept kids engaged and excited about daily activities, coached the kids in my care on creating and maintaining happy friendships, and kept us all on schedule. I worked three summers as a professional caregiver at Peace Lutheran Day Care. There I maintained strict security, safety, and health guidelines; planned and coordinated activities, crafts, and field trips, and helped elementary aged children maintain their reading and math skills over the summer. Most recently I worked as the private tutor to a special needs fifth grader who has seen marked improvement in her math skills, reading Read more comprehension, and social skills.
