I am a Psychology student at the University of St. Thomas set to graduate in May of 2017. I have an extensive amount of experience working as both a healthcare provider as well as an in-home nanny and babysitter. I am CPR certified, First Aid certified, as well as having received training in behavioral, mental, psychological, and developmental disabilities. I currently hold the title of Direct Care Provider (recently becoming Senior Direct Care Provider due to increased experience and qualifications.) My experience with childcare began at a very early age as I am the eldest child of 4 and was therefore familiar with young children and often an extra help to caring for my younger siblings. I began babysitting as a teenager, and was a summer-time nanny for 3 summers for children ranging from 4 years old to 14. In addition to working with school-age children and adolescents, I have Read more experience working with infants and toddlers as well. During the last year, I have regular, weekly interactions with a newborn, premature baby and have continued caring for him through his infancy. I greatly enjoy all ages of children! Not only do I have experience with children, but I also have great respect and fondness for working with seniors. I have worked at a nursing home and memory care facility for the elderly for over a year, as well as continue to provide in-home care and companionship to elderly residents. In addition to medication management, daily cares, and companionship, I also help seniors in staying active through encouraging community outings as well as assisting in physical and occupational therapy. I truly enjoy working with people of all ages. One thing that is a great asset of mine is how much I value quality time with the people I am with. Whether that is reading to young children or visiting with the elderly, I have a great amount of respect and dignity for all that I work for.

Megan has been tutoring/mentoring my daughter, who is on the autism spectrum. Megan has done a fantastic job keeping her calm and focused. With Megan's help, she was able to pass her English class (HOORAY!). She is SUPER reliable and adaptable. I think she would be great with any age kid, and if your kid has any special needs, Megan is the one!
