Thank you so much for viewing my profile! My name is Bianca. I recently moved to California to further my education, as I am attending Cal State as a first year Graduate student perusing my masters in Sociology. I have about 10 years of experience working with children. I first began babysitting at age thirteen for my older brother, being the daytime caretaker for my nephew from ages 7 months to two years. I also babysat some of the children in my neighborhood. Through SitterCity I have been able to expand my experience working with children, acting as the nanny/ babysitter for a wonderful family with two children for about 2-3 years in Kansas City, Mo. During my year off from school, I worked as a Case Manager for KVC in Kansas City, Ks, assisting parents with gaining guardianship of their children back. Some of my tasks for this role Read more including teaching parents healthy coping mechanisms, basic parenting skills and ensuring the safety of children at all times. During my time as a social worker, I learned even more about children through this hands-on role and constant training. As both a sitter and social worker, I worked with newborns to seventeen year old children. As a sitter, I enjoy activities that allow children to explore their imagination, as well as enhance skills. In the past, I have assisted children with learning to count, read, identify colors and so on. As a graduate student, I take classes at night, so shifts beginning in the morning lasting until about mid-day are preferable.
