Hello! My name is Kristin, and I am a graduate student at USC getting my Master's in Public Administration. I recently moved to LA from Austin, TX where I was a Program Coordinator with Communities In Schools, and previously was a site director for an after school arts program. I have also taught English in Thailand to children aged 7-13. I have my TEFL certificate and I am very skilled at creating fun and educational games spontaneously. In addition, I also led families in volunteer activities around Austin through Little Helping Hands. I am passionate about helping, playing, teaching, and learning from children. I have been babysitting for about 11 years. In Austin, I babysat a 4 year old boy occasionally, as well as a 3rd grader. Additionally, I have been a partime nanny for 2 school aged children, a full time nanny for 2 summers for two school aged Read more boys, and a part time nanny for two 6-month-old girls in a nanny share over a summer. When I nanny my goals are to keep the children active and engaged. I like to have ideas for crafts, sports, games, and imaginative play depending on the age of the children. Teaching and tutoring to ESL students developed my ability to engage children's minds in non-traditional ways. Some of the games I love to play are making crafts from recyclable materials and paper-mache crafts. I also like play with hands on activities where they can get involved and learn. I am very active and love to join in the games the children play, playing games like wall ball, four square and sports are also always fun. I am an avid "pinterster" and I am always looking for new games and activities to play with children . Besides watching the children, I try to be their friend and playmate, although I will give time-outs, and have had experience with disciplining children. I am seeking an evening position once or twice a week or once a weekend for date nights. I am very active, I have my own transportation and I'm CPR certified. My philosophy with nannying is to make my time with the children, exciting, fun and engaging, and I'll frequently plan activities and crafts to do with the children prior to nannying.
