Meet Meaghan

For whatever reason, I have an extraordinary memory of my childhood. Specifically, I remember the emotional experience of being a child. I believe this is my greatest strength as a caregiver. I can empathize with children, and because of that I'm able to relate to them in a way most adults typically can't. This has allowed me to form strong emotional bonds with the children I've cared for, and subsequently a constructive and nurturing relationship. I knew I wanted to work with children at an early age, but it was from having a nanny myself that I learned what a positive impact a nanny can have on a family. My nanny, Ms. Liz, was one of the most influential people on my life. Her wisdom, love, and support became crucial to the machinery of my family. We worked best when she was there. One of my fondest memories with her, Read more is taking regular hikes down to the beach to have picnics; all the while singing our "gonna pack a lunch" song. I have extensive experience with children, both paid and volunteer work. I've been a nanny for two separate families, in addition to babysitting for 12 years. I've spent time in preschool and kindergarten classes, so I have a good understanding of the classroom environment and how that intersects with the home. I have worked closely with a Music Therapist, which taught me how to use song and dance in a constructive therapeutic way. Additionally, I've been a child photographer for the last two years and this requires me to be creative and engaging with a child I've just met. I'm based out of Natchez, MS, but was raised in Homer, Alaska. I'm ready and willing to move almost anywhere!
