Hi my name is Raquel Vasquez . I live in Apex, NC. I am married and have 3 beautiful children ages 11, 9, and 4 (which my mom watches while I work). I have been working with children for more than 5 years, I started as a Sunday school teacher at my church, that is when my passion for teaching children started. My first job in a school setting started in a Charter School. I was a teacher assistant/Spanish teacher (Spanish Immersion School). Then I worked as a lead teacher in a Montessori school(hands on activities). After that I went to the World Bank Children's Center in D.C to work as a teacher assistant with infants(ages 8-18 mo.). I fed them, went for walks, changed diapers, played with them, they used the Reggio Emilio Philosophy (based on the children's interests), arts and crafts activities. Unfortunately I had to leave due Read more to a family emergency. I also worked at a Community Clinic as a breastfeeding counselor helping mothers breastfeed their babies and gave them support. In January of 2013 I decide that I wanted to work for families as a nanny so I started working in a nanny share in capitol Hill in D.C (babies were 3 months and 6 months of age) but unfortunately the families did not agree on something's so it came to an end. I worked with a nanny share in December 2013 for about 3 months, because they were waiting for their space in a daycare they had applied too, babies ages were 3 months (boy and girl). I fed them breast milk, or formula, went out for walks, tummy time and other age appropriate activities. Those 2 families recommended me to another family with a 3 month baby girl and I started with them. Later on they found another family and it became a nanny share job I worked for them since March of this year until June 28 which was when we moved here to N.C. due to my husbands job transfer (they knew about the move before I started working with them).
