Snapshot: I have a pretty instant rapport with young children and tend to draw out the quiet ones quickly. I love teaching through games and play, holding engaging conversations about anything from light sabers to the primary distinctions between bees and wasps. Fun and laughter are a huge part of my approach. I'm willing to work an educational focus into our time together if and however the parents desire. Specific experiences: - 12 300-level college school completed in Early Childhood Development and Family Studies; - 1 year as an America Reads Tutor (elementary age). - Intermittent babysitting experience (ages 2-10); - Child-centric volunteer experience throughout college (more on the activity-planning side). Other: I am currently pursuing plans to get home daycare licensure. For now, I have fairly flexible hours and can provide care for up to 2 children at a time (NC law).
