Caring for children is one of my biggest passions. I’ve been around them all my life, so taking care of them is the most natural thing to do. As a matter of fact, I got my first job as a “caregiver” at the age of 8!!! I knocked on the door of a couple who had recently moved to the neighborhood and had a 6 month old baby, and offered my babysitting services. They hired me shortly afterwards and let me "work" under their supervision. That was great because it helped me to build my reputation. Children are great and educating them is both a fun and a taxing job. They need a lot of love, patience, honest and constant communication, consistency, fun, undivided attention, appropriate guidance, positive reinforcement, age appropriate activities, some more fun, love and a lot more. I am familiar with all this and I am ready for the challenge and willing to participate in your child's upbringing process as much as you would like me to do. It's very exciting to see children learn to express themselves and to show flashes of their intelligence and their learning process. I really enjoy the fascinating challenge of guiding them by setting limits, teaching responsibility, initiative, the importance of discipline, teaching them life skills and always encouraging and assisting them to find the answers to their questions by themselves. I majored in Psychology with a minor in Child Development, and that helps me to understand children in their various developmental phases and see things from their perspectives. I have worked as a babysitter, as a nanny and as a governess. I have cared for newborns, twin infants and children up to the age of thirteen. As a governess I had the privilege to care for the emotional, physical and psychological well-being of 3 young motherless children for 4 years, with the help of their loving and dedicated father. My philosophy of childcare is one that teaches children to develop positive self-esteem, independence, problem solving skills, empathy, respect for others, life skills in general, while feeling cared for and loved. I believe that every family has this in mind and has its own way of striving to achieve that. I respect the family’s children upbringing philosophy and expect to be well informed about all aspects that will affect my relationship with the children, the rest of the work involved in the childcare and other responsibilities.
