Hello! My name is Sarah- and I am one of the most responsible, silly and loving nannies you'll ever meet! Childcare is something that I genuinely enjoy and over the past 6 years I have gained extensive experience with children of diverse ages and abilities. I would say what makes me a great caretaker is my active, nurturing and goofy ways. On any given day you'll find me choreographing my own version of Head Shoulders Knees and Toes, kissing boo boos or flailing around in a bouncy house at the local indoor play place. We are moving, so our babysitter Sarah V is going to be available for a new position in September.
I interviewed around 20 people from sittercity before I found Sarah, and we fell in love with her instantly. She has now been watching our 20-month old daughter for 5 months, and I don't know what we would do without her.
Two stories to illustrate what a gem Sarah is:
In the morning, I tell my daughter that Sarah is coming, and my daughter runs to the window, and excitedly watches and wiggles and laughs watching for Sarah to come. When I try to "transition," my daughter does not even notice that I am going. Folks, this is not because she's not attached to me - she really is - this just shows you how very much fun Sarah is. I feel like I am giving my daughter a treat every time she gets to play with Sarah. Because they play play play the whole time. Horsie rides, coloring, chase, crafts, building tents, tickles, books, peek-a-boo. Sarah is so fun. They also regularly go to the park, the library, play spaces, and lots of other fun places in the area, many of which Sarah researches and suggests to us.
A few weeks ago, I was changing my daughter's diaper, and all of a sudden, she started counting to 10. I called my husband in, "Did you teach her this?" Neither of us had ever attempted to teach our daughter to count to 10, but there she was, 19 months old: "1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10!" It was all Sarah. She had the idea, she took the initiative, and she did it! She taught my girl to count to 10, and that's pretty precious to me! They are now working on counting up to 20's and ABCs. (My daughter walks around now: "em-en-en-oh-p! em-en-en-oh-p!")
You should snatch Sarah up. Immediately. This babysitter is amazing! She is an honors student at UMass starting her senior year, she has many years of experience babysitting (including nanny shares and caring for multiples), and excellent references (besides us). She is looking for a part-time position with set hours starting in the fall, something like 3 days a week, 8:30 - 3:30 (or possibly later). Her rate is between $18-25 depending on number of children, etc.
