Having taught in education successfully for 14 years, I am now in graduate studies for counseling. I have taught grades K-8, in single grade and multi-grade settings, including the inclusion of TD, EC, ESL, and so forth. I have been in public magnet, title I, and Montessori, as well as private Montessori, Quaker, and Christian. I have attained a plethora of special training, as well as being given honors such as Teacher of the Year twice. I have provided babysitting services for a variety of friends, as well as provide professional tutoring services. We also serve as host family for International Student Services at UNCC, and also for orphan hosting through NHfC. So far we had opportunity to host multiple times from Ukraine. We have enjoyed the family mentor connection with college students at UNCC from South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Democratic Republic of Congo, and India. I have also had Read more the opportunity over the years to visit India, Kenya, Mozambique, South Africa, Africa, China, Hong Kong, Mexico, Canada, and the Bahamas. I volunteer at local residential care facilities, and outreaches to the homeless, impoverished, and exploited. I am also involved at my church, as well as with both local and international organizations. I am a creative person, and love crafts of all varieties. I also enjoy anything outdoors and all things nature related. I love working with both children to see their fresh enthusiasm and sense of wonder, and gleaning wisdom from the stories of elders is a joy.
