My passion for the advancement of children in society, having fun, and learning drives me to apply to be a caregiver. My desire for children success has started since the age of 14 years old when I received my very first job working for Henrico Recreation and Parks. My responsibility at that job were to make sure that the recreation programs ran smoothly and that the school-age children had an enjoyable, educated, and intriguing time while doing recreational activities. Throughout my High School career, I remained working for those recreation centers and when I decided to attend Old Dominion University, it was no question what I wanted my course of study to be. Unfortunately, ODU did not have an Education major, but I was able to achieve my goal through the Interdisciplinary studies major with classes focusing on Elementary Education (K-6). On August 3, 2016, I will finally achieve one Read more of my biggest goals and that is graduating with my Bachelors of Science. Throughout my college career I was able to observe students in a classroom setting and join Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., Black Student Caucus, and play on a traveling all girls recreation football team. I also took on multiple leadership roles by becoming president of many organizations such as the National Pan-Hellenic Council, Rogers Main/ Annex dormitory, and being the Royalty Court Director for ODU 79th Homecoming celebration. Another achievement is that I have been ,reoccurring, CPR certified since the age of 14. Currently, I work at the Boys and Girls of Southeast Virginia as a Program Leader. I help build futures for children that would never think that it could be possible by helping with homework and mentoring. Entering the workforce at a very young age, I learned many qualities that have followed me through my adulthood. The journey through college has taught me so many life lessons that I can carry on and bring to my destined career path. I have enclosed my resume for your review. Even though I currently live in Virginia, I am relocating to Charlotte, NC and will be able to work August 9,2016.
