Hello All! My name is Linda E. Cook, and I am a 26 year-old actively licensed Acute Care Registered Nurse. I injured my back 5 years ago, and am currently in the middle of a change of specialties to allow me to work in a less physically demanding environment than the hospital. Holding a current RN license also ensures that I have had, and continue to have, extremely thorough background checks performed annually by the state. I have outstanding experience in child care, including a position as an Au Pair for a family for 5 years, who I am still in contact with. I have experience in caring for children with special needs as well (Autism Spectrum Disorder and Hearing Loss). Additionally, before I graduated college, I was a Certified Lifeguard and taught Swimming Lessons. From this experience, I branched off and had my own business offering Private Swimming Lessons Read more at my clients' homes. I am VERY pet-friendly (We have three dogs of our own) and would be happy to provide basic care for them. I would also be more than happy to provide references. I am an extremely active person, and I pride myself on not simply watching children, but engaging them in all sorts of activities (some of which foster cognitive development) and outings (parent approved, should we establish that level of comfort). In addition to experience, of course, I offer the security and peace of mind of having an extremely qualified Registered Nurse caring for your children, able to handle any and all accidents that (heaven forbid) may happen. Because I hold Critical Care certifications, I am also required by the state to hold valid CPR, Basic Life Support, Advanced Life Support, and Pediatric Life Support certifications as well. I am a fairly new resident of Cornelius, NC and live in The Peninsula. I will be happy to discuss with you any and all questions that you might have, including scheduling and flexibility. I truly look forward to working with children again, as I have enjoyed my time in child care immensely! I couldn't imagine a more enjoyable job. I can be reached through the cell phone number provided, both by call and text.
