Here is part of my letter of reference from my previous employer: "Bradd was a nanny for our family for a year (or our ‘manny’ as we fondly dubbed him), from the time that our daughter M was 17 months old until she was 2 ½. He has one of the most important qualifications in order to care for a child, and that is being a parent himself. Any hesitancy that I initially had about hiring a male to watch my young daughter immediately dissipated as soon as we met Bradd and his family, including his super fun son O. They are some of the nicest people that we have met and they quickly transitioned from being a family that we had hired to watch our daughter to some of our good friends that we looked forward to seeing every week. Bradd quickly took M in as his own and implemented nap time snuggles and helped ease her transition by rocking her to sleep in the beginning. Mealtimes were a struggle at one point for us at home, but M has never eaten so well as when she has been at Bradd’s house. He also helped reinforce our potty-training strategy when the time came. I had requested that he send me pictures during the day, and was rewarded with so many cute photos of the fun they were having that day. He uses a form of conscious discipline with the kids, which has been great in helping our daughter understand why what she did was perhaps not the best choice, and helping her to improve her behavior for the future. With Bradd’s help, M learned how to share with other children. Bradd worked very hard to give the kids a variety of different experiences and learning opportunities, including crafts and science experiments. They frequently went on walks, played outside, and visited the Museum of Life and Science as well as the playground, park, or Stay-and-Play Snack Café in Durham. M has always been excited to have her play dates with Bradd and O. She proudly shows me her crafts from the day, or tries to coax me into the fort that she and O had built. Coming to pick her up I am frequently fought with chants of “But Mommy I want to stay here; Stay at Bradd’s house!” We have been so pleased with the care that Bradd provided...We would not hesitate to use Bradd again in the future and would highly recommend him to anyone who is in need of an awesome manny!"
