A child of working parents myself, I know how important nannies are in a child's life. I believe in taking care of body, mind, and spirit by encouraging play, but maintaining the rules of the house while you are away. I love to paint, draw, and craft. Happy to assist with light cleaning and food prep while kids are sleeping or at activities. Work experience: former Child Life specialist, I cared for children in hospital neonatal and pediatric intensive care units (2 years). Math and science tutor for 4th & 5th grade students (1 year). I'm currently pursuing a health care degree at Duke, but am taking leave through August, 2016 to support my family. Other background: I am CPR certified and was an EMT four years. We have had Kelly babysit for our two girls and she was great with them right from the start- she's a natural with kids and has a background in child life that clearly helps her to understand each child's development as it relates to their personality. We (the whole family, kids included) liked her so much we hired her to fill a position this Spring when our original nanny goes out for maternity. I called her reference, who echoed my impression and helped to further make me more comfortable with having her work with us. I wish I were able to keep her longer!
