I am 30 years old and I have a over of 5 years’ experience as nanny/housekeeper/ dog walker. In my last position I worked long term for 5 years (2008-2013) for a family in Glen Ridge, NJ. I used to take care of 2 kids, a boy and a girl. When I started with them the boy was 10 years old and the girl was 9 years old. My responsibilities were: wake up them, prepare breakfast and lunch box, drive them to school, after school activities, playdates, and doctors, monitoring homework. Also, I used to take care of laundry, and some drops at dry cleaner, changing sheets, keeping the house light cleaned and organized, cooking healthy dinner, doing groceries, taking kids for shopping clothes and school materials and walking the dog. During the family’s vacation time I used to stay home taking care of the house and animals (dog, cat and fish. Before this job I had three other experiences in the same position. I worked for a family in Basking Ridge, NJ. I took care of 3 kids; 2 girls 15 and 10 years and a boy 12 years old. My responsibilities were to wake up them, prepare breakfast, drive them to school and for other activities or playdates, monitoring homework, do family's laundry, heavy cleaning, cook dinner for the family, doing groceries and walk with the dog. I worked for a family in West Orange, NJ. I took care of 3 children; 2 girls 12 and 8 yrs. old, and a boy 4 years old. My responsibilities were to wake up them, prepare breakfast, drive them to school and for other activities, monitoring homework and play-dates, do laundry, light clean, cook dinner, grocery store. I worked for a family in Montclair, NJ. I took care of boys triplets 11 years old. My responsibilities were wake up them, prepare breakfast, drive them to school and for other activities, monitoring homework and playdates, do laundry, light clean, cook dinner, grocery store. I have very good references with all these families. I can give you their contacts!

Fernanda would have been our first choice for a permanent live in care-giver if her one afternoon class hadn't conflicted with our caregiving needs.
We called her in a pinch and she was prompt, asked for all the right information, and was cool and collected when I neglected to hand off the house keys when we met at my child's preschool to install the car seat in her car, leaving her and my son to arrive home only to discover they were locked out. She called down the emergency contact list (which she had requested from me in conversations securing the job) and got in touch with our nearest neighbor and had the problem solved before I got the message at work to call home. I came home to a bathed, well-fed child, in bed, on time, being read his favorite book. She stayed after time to finish reading to him and kiss him goodnight. We love this caregiver.
