Hi I am Kendra! I must start by saying I love kids. Few things bring me more joy than baby smiles. It is with this in mind that I go into any home to help parents maintain the environment they want in their home even in their absence. I recently Graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting. I started babysitting in 2002 when I was 11, with just my little sisters and cousins. When I was 15, I began watching the kids in my neighborhood and family friends. I continued to do that throughout high school. In the summer of 2011, I was hired as a program assistant at the Cherry Tree House, a childcare facility on the Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point. I continued seasonal employment at the Cherry Tree house Read more after returning to UNCG. In the fall of 2012, I was hired by Preferred Childcare as an independent contracting sitter and maintained active employment with the company until the end of 2013. In the fall of 2012 I also did a Federal Work Study with the Center for Visual Arts in Greensboro as a teachers assistant where I helped teach school aged children how to complete different mixed media artwork. I have worked with children age 2 months to 13 years. In the spring of 2014 I worked in the kid care facility of the Rush fitness complex. From December 2012 to the present I have been the date night sitter for a family with a 18 month old daughter and 4 year old son. For this family I have also done overnight care. I am comfortable with bottle feedings of breast milk and formula, and any other meal preparation. I can change both cloth and disposable diapers and help re-enforce any potty training. As you can see from my experience at the Center for Visual Arts, I love doing arts and crafts. I also love games and activities that involve music and dance. Imagination is one of the most precious parts of youth and I hope to help nurture that. I love to read to children and share some of my childhood favorites from Goodnight Moon to The Boxcar Children. I hope that I have the opportunity to help a family continue an environment of love in their home.
