I have a special needs nephew that I take care of sometimes (he's now 11). I am old fashioned and family and friends call me grandma. As an old soul I always preferred to be around my elders and babies. I would volunteer to watch my cousin's children, friends siblings, any babies. My father has 15 siblings and my mother has 5 so there are plenty of babies to look after at all times.
