As an elementary assistant teacher for five years, I had the opportunity to work with children ranging from kindergarten to fifth grade in large and small group activities. I particularly enjoyed the small groups since it allowed me to give more one-on-one attention to each child and a better opportunity to learn more about them as individuals.  My greatest experience in childcare comes from my many years as a mother. I have two sons who I adopted from Romania 16 years ago. One is now in college and the other is in high school. The newest blessing to our family is my son who is now four years old. I've been providing childcare in my home and other's homes since my youngest was born. I've assisted families with before/after school care, part-time, drop-in, and date night care. I have many happy references that I'm glad to provide. My time with Read more children in the classroom setting and at home has taught me to be patient, flexible, and to think outside the box. I've learned that not all children learn the same way, and I believe it's our job as the adults in their lives to reach them and teach them they way they learn.  I've learned that no matter how bad your day may have been, a child's smile is a ray of sunshine that chases away the darkest clouds. Most everything I've learned about life and happiness, I've learned from children!
