I moved to New York from Asheville, North Carolina two years ago. As a Sustainable Development major, I committed to maintaining a connection with nature despite living an urban life. For my first year as a New York resident, I worked as a Farmer's Market manager for the Greenmarkets located in Uptown Manhattan. I then found purpose in pursuing a career as a florist , which I still do currently for Stems Brooklyn. Education has always played a major role in my life, particularly sharing my love for the natural world. This has permeated my dedication to floristry, as I am now the workshop coordinator for Stems Brooklyn. I have a passion for immersing people, particularly children, in stimulating environments that foster their creativity and imagination. Engaging children with nature and natural processes is so important because it ignites conscious lifestyles starting at a young age. Getting people to be Read more active and involved, specifically relating to environmental education, is something I would happily apply to this job. I am not a screen time nanny. I would much rather frequent parks, museums (Museum of Natural History being my personal favorite) and other cultural events. I am willing to help with schoolwork and engage in educational games or creative and inspiring projects. I am available before and after school hours to provide care or offer assistance with light cooking and cleaning. On a rainy day, I imagine your children and I would be visiting a museum or cultural center, or making up games and storytelling in the comfort of your own home. I am not currently certified in emergency response techniques, such as CPR, but am willing to seek certification upon request. I look forward to having a professional and honest relationship with the families that reach out to me and am beyond excited for the opportunity to inspire your children. Thank you for your consideration!
