For 8 months in college, I worked as a Student Research Assistant in a lab for children with developmental delays and disorders. After college, I volunteered with the lab for the remainder of my summer in Wilmington, NC. I actively played with, read with, colored with, built trains with, dressed Barbie dolls with, and prepared meals for the children coming to and from lab. I have experience watching and helping children with autism, spina bifida, pediatric feeding disorders, cleft palate, as well as typically developing children. My concentration in school was Applied Behavior Analysis, which actively helps children in learning new and appropriate behaviors. ABA is widely used in an educational setting, especially during early education. I have plenty of experience babysitting for friends and family members. Ages all range from newborn to 12 years of age. I absolutely love to be active: going to museums, running, cycling, cleaning, and Read more doing group activities! I also enjoy cooking! I also have multiple volunteer experiences, including working with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (Fall 2010), Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of North Carolina (Spring 2012), and Clare Bridge Care Center for Alzheimer's Disease (Fall 2013). REGISTERED FOR UPDATED PEDIATRIC CPR AND FIRST AID TRAINING. CLASS DATE IS OCTOBER 23, 2014.
