I have been working with children since the age of 18, but even before then, I knew I wanted to be a teacher. I began as a summer camp counselor at the local YMCA, where I worked with children of ages 4-12. I then went on to become a school age counselor at the local preschool/day camp. Soon after that, I found myself in a Lead PreK-4 position, where I absolutely fell in love with helping children develop their early reading and math skills. Throughout college, my sorority- Alpha Xi Delta- worked closely with and alongside the organization Autism Speak, where I was privileged to work with many children on the autism spectrum and their families and developed my passion for working with students with special needs. I earned my Bachelor's of Science degree in Special Education in 2012 from Old Dominion University. I went on to earn my Master's Read more of Science in Education in Special Education in 2013 from Old Dominion University. Immediately after graduation, I was hired to work with students with mild to moderate disabilities in Kindergarten and First grade. Then last summer, in search of new surroundings, I moved to Raleigh to further my career in special education. I currently work with students in 2nd-5th grade at a Wake County Public School. I am currently CPR and First Aid certified. I enjoy doing things around the Triangle area, including going to the local museums, parks, and Greenway trials. I am a very active person, and being outdoors is an ideal location for me- when the weather is nice. When I am not teaching, I like to work out at the gym and try new recipes or local restaurants with food that I cannot get anywhere else. I love exploring all what the Triangle has to offer, and would love the opportunity to do so with a family likes yours!
