My name is Mackenzie Evans, but I prefer to go by Kenzie. I am 23 years old. I have been working as a tutor and a nanny in the Raleigh area since the end of 2013. I am also a full-time student. Currently, I nanny in the afternoon from school release until the late evening. Over the summer, I will be working with the same family in the late afternoon and evenings. I intend to take them to activities such as swimming lessons and have small academic lessons to prepare them for the upcoming school year. My availability: Sat and Sun = full availability M, W, F = morning- 3:30 pm Tu and Thu = morning- 11:45 am July 13th- August 21st, I will be available until 3:30 on Tuesday and Thursday as well. I am also available for overnight stays that begin at 8pm and end by the next Read more day's end of availability. I know my schedule sounds somewhat extensive, but I can guarantee my availability during the specific times. I am finishing the last class for my associates degree this summer and will be attending NCSU in the fall. I plan to get a master's degree in behavioral analysis in order to work with children and adolescents who have autism, suffered psychological trauma, or any other disorders that can be improved through behavioral therapy. Working as a nanny, allowed me to discover that I want to work with specific needs children as a career. In 2014, I began working with a 5th grader who was on the Autism Spectrum. He was 2-3 years behind in learning standards and viewed many social situations as hostile or unmanageable. I did not have any professional experience, but I knew goal setting, patient and repetitive explanations, and creative teaching techniques could help him improve. I worked with him for two years, and he improved tremendously. In the future, I want to work with as many children as possible in order to help them reach their fullest potential. I am very reliable, organized, and confident in my ability to care for children. I am CPR certified for infants, children, and adults. I am excellent at homework help and specific academic skill building. I can help with all subjects, including math to the calculus level. I also have a full understanding of the principles of English grammar. Please feel free to ask any questions via phone at 919-817-2903, email at mevans22@ncsu.edu, or the website messaging.
