I am a natural teacher of children, having raised my own two sons and helping with my grandchildren. I currently care for two girls ages 2 and 3 1/2 some evenings, have cared for them for nearly three years before they went to day care. I have cared for two neighbor girls as well. I enjoy doing art, singing, dancing, reading and playing with children, including going outside for walks or trips to the park. I endeavor to gain their cooperation to create a peaceful atmosphere, and I use patience and kindness as I work with them. I am loving and warm and like to have fun with children. I help pre-schoolers with language, colors, shapes, numbers, etc. I use Play-Doh as a coordination tool as well as an artistic activity. I usually bring little gifts of toys or treats. I spend most of my time engaged with the younger Read more children, playing, feeding, bathing and dressing them in addition to outdoor activities, and if time allows, could also add some light housekeeping. The children and their needs are the main focus for me. I work with parents to give their children the values they hold dear. I am educated and mature, so I have the wisdom to gently guide them as they grow. I would like to have a position where I could be with the same family most days for a long period of time, but will also do semi-regular child care for people needing an occasional sitter as my schedule allows.
