For as long as I can remember, I have always loved children. Growing up with wonderful parents, and 4 loving siblings, I was continually interacting with kids. In addition, my mother ran a home based day care for 15 years that offered ample opportunity for me to interact, develop, and help other children of all ages. In my later years, I learned to take care of children through my many babysitting jobs, and it became very natural for me. Now, as a graduate of UNC School of the Arts in Music, I am great at multi-tasking and have excellent people skills. As a musician, I am also familiar with other languages (Italian, French, and German), and my experiences have helped me to build excellent memorization and organizational skills. I have had the opportunity to teach private voice lessons with kids of all ages, including adults. My experience has taught me Read more to develop clear communication skills and creative learning processes. I have tutored children/young adults in the Writing Center at my university, and I have mediated many different situations as a Resident Manager at UNC School of the Arts. As part of my church youth group, I have organized meetings, led songs, and have taught to both a younger and older crowd. Fully capable and excited, I look forward to supporting and encouraging kids in my position. I also have wonderful cooking and cleaning skills, and will soon be CPR certified! Some of my duties in past positions include the following: • Oversight of safety for children for varying ages • Provide loving discipline, teaching, and tutoring • Bathing, changing diapers, administering medicine, reading bed time stories, etc. • Getting children accustomed to regular schedules and routines • Maintain a child’s journal and assist with school activities • Planning and managing all play and exercise activities • Prepare healthy meals and snacks for children, occasionally prepare for the whole family • Clean the kitchen and children’s areas as needed with focus on sanitary standards • Organize, clean and fold laundry • Run errands and safely transport children when needed • Maintain sanitary conditions for high usage items, such as changing tables, bottles, and feeding areas I want to impart and apply all my abilities in being a Nanny while I continue to pursue a teaching career in music.
