Hi! My name is Laura Meagher, I am nineteen years old and attend the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where I am majoring in elementary education. I have always loved children which is why I am so excited to become a teacher. I am one of five children in my family and an aunt to three young children whom I've also helped care for. For the past 6.5 years, I have babysat children of various ages including newborns all the way to 12 years old. Specifically, for the past three summers, I have been a nanny for a family with two children (1 boy, 1 girl) who are now 8 years old and 12 years old. My nanny duties include preparing meals, assisting the children with their school work and reading, helping clean up after the children and keep the house tidy, transporting the children to their events and fun activities (Children's Read more Museum, Zoo, etc.) during the week, and helping take care of their pets. I also involve the children in other at-home activities such as baking, cooking, crafts, and games. As for my training, I completed the Super Sitters babysitting class at Saint Elizabeth Hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska, trained in First Aid, and CPR Certified.
