I've been taking care of children for twenty-five plus years. Caring for children has always been my greatest passion and I can't imagine my life without children being a part of it. I began caring for children when I was still a child myself when I starting babysitting at the age of twelve. Over the past twenty-five years I've worked as a camp counselor at many different summer camps, worked at Tower School, the YMCA and JCC as an aquatics instructor and lifeguard, worked in many daycare's and managed a daycare in Sedona, Arizona. I attended Salem State University in 2000 and majored in psychology with the intention of becoming a child psychologist. I also trained to become an emergency medical technician in 2008 and was certified in 2009. I believe that there are people in the world that were born to work with children, it's simply in their nature, Read more a part of who they are. Like I stated, I can't imagine my life without children being a part of it. I'm a very loving, warm, compassionate and patient person and that certainly comes in handy when caring for children. My daughter was born in 2008 and became the love of my life, there's nothing more important to me in my life than my child. Children need so much love in their lives, love is key to everything in life at least that's how I see it and what my father always taught me since I was a young child. I feel that even though there are extraordinary people in this world who work with children and are wonderful with them I also feel that when you become a parent yourself there's a lot more you learn and understand about children, caring for them and more to offer. I spent three months in Calcutta, India in 2006 caring for sick and dying children, orphans and families in dire of the kind of help we can't even begin to fathom as American's. It was an experience of a lifetime and every single child I came across and interacted with changed my life forever. I have photographs of many of them on my walls in my apartment as it keeps me humble and reminds me of how much I love them and how much they changed my life. In a few years when I become a paramedic I look forward to going back and bringing my daughter with me. It's an honor for me anytime I get to work with a child, they touch my heart and give me a great gift simply by being who they are. It would be an honor to care for your children, love them, support them, guide them and treat them like they were my own.
